A Practice Rooted in Emotion, Movement, and Renewal

Abstract and semi-abstract works exploring color, texture, and organic form.

Artist Statement

Abstract and semi-abstract works exploring emotion, movement, texture, and organic form through intuitive layers of color.

The Work

I create abstract and semi-abstract paintings that explore emotion through color, movement, and organic form. My work moves between botanical imagery and abstraction, using layered color and intuitive mark-making to reflect internal states that are often difficult to articulate in words.

Process

My paintings are rooted in themes of healing, growth, and emotional release. Repeating forms—flowers, trees, and fluid structures—emerge and dissolve across the surface, creating a visual language that is both structured and intuitive. I am particularly interested in the tension between control and spontaneity, allowing color and gesture to guide the evolution of each composition.

The Return

After stepping away from painting for more than two decades, I returned to the canvas in 2024 during a period of personal transformation. What began as a reintroduction quickly developed into a focused and prolific practice. This return informs the urgency and energy present in my work, where each piece becomes both a record of process and an act of renewal.

Current Practice

I am currently developing a cohesive body of work that bridges expressive abstraction with organic forms, with an emphasis on scale, color relationships, and surface depth. My practice continues to expand through sustained studio work and exhibition, as I refine a visual language centered on transformation and the emotional resonance of color.
